The Three Rs of a Great Leader

Print
Share

In these difficult economic times that are hitting the workplace especially hard, good leadership can help your company survive and thrive. Are you a great leader? Do you have great leadership in your organization? See how you or your company’s leaders measure up on the 3 Rs.

Reliable. People want to be able to rely on others. They want leaders that can be trusted and counted on for consistency. This can manifest in the form of regular communications and keeping people updated, as well as someone who practices what they preach. Can you count on your leadership for consistency in both words and actions?

Responsible. It’s important to have a leader that takes ownership and responsibility. This is not the time for broken commitments or assigning blame. Great leaders embrace their role and demonstrate their backbone. Do your leaders stand up for what they say? Do they deliver what they promise without making excuses?

Resourceful. Doing things the same way all the time will not advance you or your organization. Leaders need to be innovative and driven to go beyond the status quo. Strong leaders need to be creative in numerous aspects of the job – new products, communications, problem solving, budgeting, personnel allocation, etc. Are your leaders thinking out of the box?
